About us

The Vieques Conservation Trust was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1985 under the laws of Puerto Rico. It is a 501(c)(3) federally tax exempt corporation with  the EIN 66-0429598. VCHT also holds an Article 1101.01 exemption from the Puerto Rican government.

Our Mission.

The VCHT’s mission is to foster, protect and conserve the environmental, archaeological and cultural resources of Vieques. One of the primary goals is to preserve and study the bioluminescent bays found on the island. We support a broad array of educational programs for the –community, with a special focus on children through lectures, educational exhibits, seminars, creative and fun environmental education programs, publications, computer resources and a unique scholarship program for Viequense students.
